Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Provides a Warm Home for the Family of Martyr Göktaş
A house was purchased for the family of Private Sinan Göktaş, from Izmir, who was martyred while serving in the Coast Guard Command, so that they could have a warm home.
A protocol was signed at the Izmir Governorship for the purchase of a house for the family of Private Sinan Göktaş, who was martyred when a coast guard boat capsized after being struck by a cargo ship off Sarayburnu, Istanbul, last August. The signing ceremony was attended by Izmir Governor Erol Ayyıldız and Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Board Chairman Erol Urgun, as well as the Provincial Director of Family and Social Policies Nesim Tanğlay, Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Vice Chairman Nurettin Memur, Nevvar Salih İşgören Board Member Mülayim Altınkalp, Karabağlar District Governor Mehmet Sadık Tunç, and other members.
Highlighting the importance of safeguarding the legacy of martyrs, İzmir Governor Erol Ayyıldız thanked the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation administrators for their exemplary behavior.

Governor Ayyıldız, pointing out that this act of solidarity will keep the memory of the martyr Sinan Göktaş alive by providing his family with a beautiful home, said, “They have shown a beautiful example of solidarity by enabling Sinan Göktaş's family to become homeowners. They have shown a very beautiful example of social assistance and solidarity. First of all, we pray to God for mercy upon our elders Nevvar Salih İşgören, who both gave his name to the foundation and enabled it to do good deeds in this sense. Similarly, our martyrs have reached the most beautiful rank of martyrdom and have watered this homeland with their blood as a sacred trust for us. May God grant them abundant mercy. I thank this foundation and all its stakeholders for showing the best example of social assistance. I hope that this behavior will be an example for other foundations and everyone. Hopefully, we will always undertake such good deeds.”
Speaking to the press after the signing ceremony, Erol Urgun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation, said, “In these days when our country is going through a sensitive period, the families of our martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for our spirit of unity and integrity, are a trust for us. As the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation, it is an honor for us to use the trust left to us by our benefactors for the families of our martyrs. Our educational assistance efforts continue for the families of 15 July veterans and martyrs, as well as the families of martyred soldiers, who have applied to our foundation for educational support. With this responsibility, we thank everyone who contributes to the work of our foundation.”
