A meaningful protocol was signed at the Izmir Governorship for the purchase of a house for the family of Private Sinan Göktaş, who was martyred in August when a coast guard boat was struck by a cargo ship off Sarayburnu, Istanbul. The signing ceremony, which took place at the Governorship, was attended by Izmir Governor Erol Ayyıldız, Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Board Chairman Erol Urgun, Provincial Director of Family and Social Policies Nesim Tanğlay, Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation Board Vice Chairman Nurettin Memur, Nevvar Salih İşgören Board Member Mülayim Altınkalp, Karabağlar District Governor Mehmet Sadık Tunç, and other members. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Izmir Governor Erol Ayyıldız said: “First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation. The reason is that they have provided a home for our brother Sinan Göktaş, who was martyred while serving his military duty in the Coast Guard Command, and his family, demonstrating a beautiful example of solidarity. We pray for God's mercy upon our elder Nevvar Salih İşgören, who gave his name to the foundation and enabled it to carry out such charitable acts. Similarly, our martyrs, having attained the highest rank of martyrdom, have watered this homeland with their blood as a sacred trust for us. May God grant them abundant mercy. I thank this Foundation and all its stakeholders for demonstrating the best example of social solidarity. I hope this behavior will serve as an example for other foundations and everyone. God willing, we will always undertake such charitable works,” he said. Following this, the signing ceremony with the Nevvar Salih İşgören Foundation took place.
